Design the Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder in Photoshop
12-19-07The Flip Video Ultra Camcorder is a pocket-sized camcorder with one-touch recording and digital zoom. This detailed photoshop tutorial will take you through the steps to creating a realistic Flip Video Ultra.
Step 1:
Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 800×440 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a white color. You can set the size of your canvas to any size as long as theres enough space to fit 3 to 4 Flip Video. Now select your Rounded Rectangle Tool from the tools palette, right above your screen under options palette set the radius to 6 px and check anti-aliased.

Step 2:
Now click on the arrow pointing down to access the Rounded Rectangle Options. Select Fixed Size and type 144×276 px for the size. Make a new layer set(Layer > New > Layer Set), call it ‘Flip Video’ . Now create a new layer then draw an orange, color code #E56F00 rounded rectangle. Because of the Fixed Size option, your rounded rectangle should have the same size as shown below.

Step 3:
Create a new layer then draw a large light gray, color code #F1F1F1 rectangle on the middle of your orange rounded rectangle.

Step 4:
Go to Layer > Layer Style then add an Inner Shadow, Satin and Stroke blending options to your light gray rectangle.

Step 5:
Your light gray rectangle should now have some details on the top and bottom.

Step 6:
Choose your Rounded Rectangle Tool again and set the radius setting to 16 px. Now make another layer and draw a dark gray, color code #333438 rectangle. This shape will hold the screen and buttons so position it on the middle.
